Who we are

Soft Resistance is a small, one-person business based in South Dakota, United States. This policy covers softresistance.com. You can reach us at [email protected].

What we collect, and why

When you place an order

We collect your name, email address, shipping address, phone number if you choose to give one, and what you ordered. We use this to take payment, work out shipping and sales tax, print and ship your order, send your receipt and shipping updates, and answer your questions.

Payment details

You type your card details on a secure page run by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe shows us limited details, such as the card type and its last four digits, so we can help with refunds and questions.

When you email us

We receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use it to reply and to keep a record of the conversation.

Information saved on your own device

To save you retyping, the shop keeps your cart and your delivery details in your browser's storage on your own device. This information stays on your device. It is sent to us only when you ask for shipping options or place an order. You can erase it with the "Forget my saved details" link in the cart, or by clearing your browser data.

Technical information

Like every website, ours receives basic technical details when you visit, such as your IP address, your browser type and the pages requested. Our hosting company, Cloudflare, uses these to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Our fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google also receives your IP address and browser details when a page loads.

Cookies and tracking

We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not run trackers that follow you around the internet. Stripe sets cookies on its payment page to prevent fraud, and Cloudflare may set a security cookie to protect the site.

This site shares crisis resources such as 988 and 211. We do not track who views them.

Who we share information with

We share only what each company needs to do its job:

• Stripe processes payments and calculates sales tax.
• Printful prints and ships your order, and passes your address to the shipping carrier.
• Shipping carriers deliver your package.
• Cloudflare hosts the website.
• Apple iCloud Mail carries our email.
• Google Fonts serves the fonts.

We may also share information when the law requires it, or to prevent fraud. We do not sell or rent your information to anyone.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as tax and accounting rules require. We keep emails for as long as they are useful for helping you.

Your choices

Wherever you live, you can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days. Some records, such as proof of a sale, must be kept for tax reasons even after a deletion request, and we will tell you if that applies.

Children

This shop is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to place your order.

Security

The site uses an encrypted connection, and we work with established companies to handle payments and orders. No method of sending information online is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.

Where your information is handled

We are based in the United States, and the companies listed above may process information in the United States and other countries.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
